Get Involved
Your input, participation and ideas are needed at the Chamber! Educational networking opportunities and exposure are only two of the many benefits of becoming involved and invested in the Blackstone Chamber of Commerce. There are different involvement areas and commitment periods, so members can choose to volunteer for a committee or task force that meets the member's goals and schedule.
Ambassadors Club - focuses on retaining and adding members by making personal visits, and measuring member satisfaction with Chamber programs and services Meetings: Monthly or as needed
Annual Meeting Committee: offers a unique, informative, and quality event for Chamber members to celebrate successes of the fiscal year and give recognition to members. Meetings: Seasonal
Blackstone Arts & Crafts Festival Committee - with the help of dozens of volunteers hosts this special event that promotes a positive image for Blackstone and raises funds for the Chamber. Meetings: Seasonal - Monthly from January to September
Non-Dues Revenue Committee - works to develop projects that will raise funds for the Chamber's budget, includes the Casino Night Task Force which organizes the Chamber's newest event - Casino Night Gala held in February. This high energy evening is a fun networking event as well as fund-raiser for the Chamber.
Legislative Committee - keeps the Chamber membership better informed of legislative issues. This committee develops position papers on legislative issues that affect our members. At the same time, they also communicate with our legislators as the "voice of business" from the Blackstone area. Meetings: Bi-Monthly, or as needed
Internet Website Committee - maintains the web site for the Chamber and continues exploring the opportunities available for the Chamber and its members on the Internet. Meetings: As needed
Program Committee - organizes fun, informational, and educational events to serve the Chamber membership. Meetings, Monthly
Promotions Committee - helps educate members and the community of Chamber happenings. Meetings, Monthly or as needed
Leadership Nottoway - originally designed by the Blackstone Chamber of Commerce, now a collaborative effort with the Crewe-Burkeville Chamber, Leadership Nottoway is a group learning experience that focuses not only on studying community issues but also on enhancing leadership capabilities and building networks for community problem solving. Meetings: Seasonal, July to March
